Today the road traffic was awful,there was a girl looking at me in the bus, but i didn't pay attention ( apart from the fact that she was looking at me )..
I told myself, why don't you grab a pen and work on the new site's rules & terms of use...so i did just that instead of paying attention to the girl looking at me.....
I wrote 4 pages of stuff....some stuff related to technical issues, some stuff related to moral issues, some stuff related to the girl looking at me...err na, i didn't do that *L*
So i came with some pretty neat ideas about "how to make people read and understand simple rules of conduct", you know things like " you will add credits to your images", "you won't steal the textures on the excelsior and slap them on Eric Peterson's model", "you won't steal Cooper's model and try to make the world believe you did it by yourself", " you won't go & date the girl looking at you " :)
...
So i did just that, i came up with some pretty good ways to deal with that...i personnaly find it hilarious, but i know some of you bad or lazy guys won't like them, but heh, that's life :)
Of course, there are reasons for that, the most obvious being the people stealing months of work, but there is one other good reason...gor the past weeks, the Scifi-Art forums have been devastating in terms of quality of Artwork, never we've had so many talented people finally doing some nice 'even-if-inspired' original models or artwork....so the other good reason is that we are going to have "quality" instead of "quantity"
We are going to push hard in that direction, it means we are probably going to lose a few whiners on the trip, but it also means we're going to engage warp speed in the right direction.....
One of the major new features will be a "writing oriented" part of the site...i don't want to give away too many secret projects, but to sum it up, people will be able to write directly "for the site", and "on the site"...can't say more..you'll see it coming anyway :)
One last thing before i go talk to that girl looking at me, i wanted to give you guys a few official statistics of the Scifi-Art.com website, 500 000 pageviews per month, 5000 visits per day, and 140 Gigs of traffic ( models included )....so yeah, we have some pretty big guns to defend ourselves :)
